Scotland is widely known for its breathtaking landscapes and Aberdeen Woods are no exception. While touring Scotland in a motorhome why not spend a day exploring the woods?
Aberdeen Woods is made up of 6 separate woods which surround the city so whichever side of town you are visiting from there will be a piece of woodland within easy reach.
Some of the most popular areas of the wood to visit include Tyrebagger Wood, a mature wood with several clearly marked walks with wood sculpture dotted along the way, Countesswells, a small wood with several popular circular walks and a horse trail, and Kirkhill, with a mountain bike fun park for visitors situated only 5km away from the centre of Aberdeen.
Parking is free and dogs are welcome in all areas of the wood.
There are plenty of varied events taking place at the woods throughout the year, from ghost walks to wildlife information talks. Check the Forestry Commission website for details.
