Bromham Mill and Gallery

SEARCH: Motorhomes for Hire in Bedfordshire

Bromham Mill has probably been a mill for many centuries but the current building in brick and timber was built in the late eighteen century or early nineteen century on the site of previous mills. It originally had two waterwheels but only one remains. The Wheel was restored in 1980 . You can still see a lot of the original machinery on the outside of the mill. There is also an eel trap with in the sluice gate which was useful for former occupants to catch dinner! The mill stands in a courtyard surrounded by timber barns. Inside the Mill is the art gallery with the chance to buy local crafts. The Gallery has an ever changing exhibition of local artists and craftspeople so there is always something new to see here. They also hold events at the mill during the year so check their website to see whether there is something of interest you don’t want to miss. The Mill is located just one mile from Bedford and there is a car parking fee. There is also a nice riverside mill to mill walk you can take if you are feeling energetic! This is a lovely location and worth stopping to have a look around. To get there in your Bedfordshire Motorhome Hire drive on the A428 Bedford to Northampton and look for the signposts. For more information on Bromham Mill and Gallery click the blue link below.  The public can visit on Sundays and Bank Holidays from Easter till October in the afternoon from 1pm till 5pm. There is also a cafe serving beverages and cakes.
