Whilst touring around Hertfordshire in a camper van St. Albans Cathedral is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon.
St Alban’s Cathedral was constructed from the ruins of a Roman city and dates back to the early 8th century. The UK’s longest nave can be enjoyed from within the Cathedral, measuring 84m. There is even a treasury containing medieval artifacts to be viewed along with a shrine to Alban, a Roman pagan who is regarded as Britain’s first Christian Martyr.
St. Alban’s is also known for being a filming location for several high profile films such as the Nicole Kidman thriller Birthday Girl (2001) and the Rowan Atkinson comedy Johnny English (2003).
